Meet the Team
Kenny and
Kirsten King
Kenny and Kirsten live in Saint Paul. They have been serving Capital City Church as a pastoral team overseeing teaching and congregational engagement since August 2023. They love Saint Paul, and love being a part of the Capital City church community. Their desire is for Capital City Church to remain a place where people grow in their love for God and faithfully love their neighbor as themselves.
They both received Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Northwestern, Saint Paul, Minnesota, then married and moved to Illinois where Kenny completed his MDiv at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL, and their four children were born. They served there for six years at Village church of Lincolnshire.
They moved to Willmar, MN and worked at the EFCA church of Willmar for 19 years. During this time Kenny completed his Doctor of Ministry in Youth and Family Ministries from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. They moved to Saint Paul and served at an EFCA church in Maplewood for 12 years. During this time Kirsten earned her Master of Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Kenny is an adjunct professor in the Christian Ministries Department at UNWSP. Kirsten is an active speaker at conferences, camps and events and is the author and host of the Good Story podcast.
They enjoy spending time with their family; four adult kids and their spouses and seven grandchildren. They both love to read, run, and travel. Kenny loves to bike, drive buses, ski, get breakfast with friends and eat Italian food. Kirsten is an avid sports fan and enjoys games, lunch with friends, Caribou, writing and shoes.
DUSTIN AND AMANDA LOGE
Hi, we’re the Loges!
Dustin is a teacher in the Saint Paul School system. He joined Capital City with his family as the church was starting in 2018. He serves on the Ministry Leadership Team, co-leads the Good Neighbor team, and helps with managing the building and grounds of the Capital City Church building.
Amanda lives in Saint Paul with her husband and three kids. She values time with family and friends and works in public education. Amanda enjoys reading, being outdoors, taking her dog on long walks, spectating at her kids’ sporting events, and opportunities to travel and learn. Amanda serves on the Ministry Leadership Team and co-leads the Good Neighbor team which partners with Arrives Ministries to serve refugee families in Saint Paul.
Sarah Haglund
Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm on the Ministry Leadership Team here at Capital City.
I live in Afton with my parents who also attend Capital City. I have a German shepherd named Rey who I love to hike with and take camping.
I have a passion for coffee, cross stitch, traveling, cooking/baking and making connections with people.
Nate Miller
Nate lives in Maplewood along with his wife Jess and their four kids. They love to play, build, learn, and serve together and we are at our best when we are together in nature. “We have been blessed by the people here at Capital City Church, and can’t wait to continue building a community that helps our families thrive.”
Nate and Jess oversee the Capital Kids ministry providing age-appropriate worship and educational opportunities during the second half of the Sunday morning services.
Nate is a nurse at a local pediatric hospital and is passionate about helping kids and their families heal and grow. He is currently earning an advanced nursing degree. It is his life’s mission to bring glory to God by working hard to support human flourishing in his family, community, and the church, where he serves on the Ministry Leadership Team.
Esther lives in St. Paul and enjoys playing volleyball, being outside, playing guitar, and traveling.
Esther is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business analytics, where she gets to combine her passion for business and analyzing data.
Esther has attended Capital City since the church was first planted and serves on the Ministry Leadership Team and Finance committee.
Esther Baumgartner
Caleb Hardacre
Caleb lives in Hugo with his wife Rachel, and their two children. Their family enjoys spending time together through various activities, including gardening and reading.
Caleb works as a high school math teacher and values the relationships he builds with his students.
Caleb is involved with the Ministry Leadership Team and the Finance committee. Has been attending Capital City since March 2022.
